Chris Sununu launches 2024 early state Facebook ad
The New Hampshire Governor sure looks like he's running for President...
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu has launched a new digital ad stoking speculation of a potential 2024 presidential bid. On December 18th, Sununu’s campaign committee, Friends of Chris Sununu, launched a new video ad on Facebook and Instagram targeting voters in the early nominating states of Iowa and South Carolina.
In the ad, which features a clip from CNN, the Governor says “if we’re going to inspire the next generation, we need to leave the negativity behind.”
Coasting to victory in his recent re-election campaign, Sununu has been rumored to be considering a run for President for quite some time - but last month told Jake Tapper at CNN that he was not considering it “right now.” A communications staffer for the New Hampshire Democratic Party tweeted that Sununu claimed as recently as yesterday “to only be focused on New Hampshire right now.”
Sununu isn’t the only 2024 contender running digital ads targeting early states. Yesterday, FWIW broke the news that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had launched a new nationwide ad campaign, and former CIA Director and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been aggressively targeting 2024 early states online all year. Mike Pence, Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez have also run digital ads boosting their own 2024 prospects.
