Who's behind an obscure nonprofit spending thousands of dollars on deceptive digital ads...
Last week, we broke the news that a shady "pro-climate" group called United for Clean Power was running ads aimed at killing the Democrats' historic reconciliation bill - claiming that the legislation did not go far enough to combat climate change.
In the days since, we worked with journalist Judd Legum to track down who is behind the “dark money” nonprofit organization, which has existed in some capacity since 2015. As it turns out, the organization and individuals involved have extensive ties to Republican political operatives and networks.
